Nordnetkunder net bought securities for 318 million in March. During the first quarter, total fund purchases thus 1.1 billion, less than three and a half times as much as the first quarter last year.

Equity funds are definitely the most popular among private savers. Northern Power Customers net purchased mutual funds for 294 million and combined funds for 47 million in March. The money was mostly new deposits, but also the redeployment of funds from bond funds contributed 31 million, reports Nordnet.

DNB Asset Management has reason to smile when their fund takes all of the first three places of most purchased traditional funds. Simultaneously, they conclude that the competitor KLP neighboring building in Oslo this month, three of its funds on the list of most sold. The money needed thus not moved far this time.

Among the most purchased funds, we find this month five funds with exposure to biotech.

– It is positive that interest fund savings is increasing, and that good broad index funds are among the most commonly purchased by customers. This is a cheap and good way to invest in stocks, says Karl Oscar Electricity, investment economist at Nordnet, in the message.

– Biotech funds have been popular among our customers long and the simple explanation is that Funds have had an extremely strong price performance. Despite the upturn looks surprisingly sector not scary animals to be dominated by research-intensive companies, says Power. I looked at the pricing for a while and ended up buying a little Biotech itself. It is however important to be aware of that risk and volatility are large in such sectors, so one must be careful, says Power.
