Getting recommended Vaernes

DN knows that the academic community in the subsidiary Avinor Air Navigation has recommended adding new tower center to Trondheim Airport Værnes.

Several sources said the newspaper that Falk-Petersen at a board meeting in February went against the recommendation and expressed a desire for a decision in favor hometown.

– I can not get into the internal processes of the issue, says Falk-Petersen DN questions about the recommendation he gave at the board meeting.

He says that it is the Board subsidiary, where he is chairman, who has given a recommendation to the corporate board.

accused of “Unclean political games”

Avinor is now working full time with developing the next generation tower service . With remote controlled turrets can operate tower service at several airports from the same place.

That one tower center can control large parts of the Norwegian air traffic using video monitors.

Mayor Ivar Vigdenes (Sp) Stjordal, where Vaernes Airport is an important employer, says DN that he reacts to that Avinor boss should have gone against the recommendation of its own technical department.

– What we have learned from several sources gives great cause for concern. I’m afraid that there has been a crude political games to get localized the new tower center Bodo says Vigdenes to DN.

In case shows DN to a report prepared by Avinor Air Navigation, as they have partially access. Where drawn Vaernes and Gardermoen emerged as the most attractive localities, while Bodøs alternative emerges as impaired, they write.

Demanding case

Ole M. Rinnan are Avinor Chairman and says to DN that case has now been postponed until the next board meeting is March 27, because the recommendations went in several directions.

He would not comment on their information that Avinor boss gave a clear recommendation in the Board meeting, but says the following:

– This is a challenging case with many interests. I am familiar with similar processes from earlier and it would have been strange if it was not tension in the team, says Rinnan and rejects allegation of Stjordal mayor of “unclean political games.”
