There Tor Olav Trøims had a strong desire to develop Golar LNG eg by entering the market for liquefied gas production, John Fredriksen wanted to consolidate operations and concentrate on shipping, rigging and farmed, type DN.

A source familiar with the process told the newspaper that the intention was that Trøims would work with seadrill and Golar companies, in addition to that he would continue on the Board of Marine Harvest.

Fredriksen sold its stake in Golar LNG in early September. It got the ball rolling.

– They have disagreed on the way forward. There has been many times before, but now was supposed Trøims be responsible for part of the portfolio. It did not work when they had quite different views on how it should focus on, says source DN.

Fredriksen confirms this.

– We never communicated via media or stock market which investment decisions we take. When it comes to sales in Golar so the company chose a more speculative strategy that we disagreed., We would rather focus on Seadrill, which has a solid backlog, and where we see great potential for the future, says Fredriksen to DN.

Saturday drew also the daughter of John Fredriksen from the board of Golar LNG Partners.
