Deputy Governor Stanley Fischer of the Federal Reserve said Sunday that the US economy is approaching the Fed’s target.
– We are close to our goals. We expect GDP growth will rise up in the coming quarters as the investment grows after a surprisingly weak performance in recent months and the impact of the strengthened dollar declines, said Fischer during a speech in Aspen, Colorado, according to TDN Finans.
the speech comes days before Fed chief Janet Yellen will hold his speech in Jackson Hole on Friday, giving increased confidence that it can get a new rate hike in the US in 2016.
