Marine Harvest satisfied despite lice expenses – Hitra Frøya

The salmon giant Marine Harvest delivered a lower operating profit for the fourth quarter than the previous year, but CEO Aarskog is very happy.

The company achieved an operating profit (operating EBIT) of 837 million in 2015, against 1.032 million in the same quarter in 2014.

– High production costs in all regions remains a concern. We see, however, that our Norwegian operation performed well even with high sea lice costs, says CEO Aarskog, and he praises the employees’ efforts in a stock exchange announcement.

Revenue Marine Harvest Group was at 8.06 billion, compared to 6.86 billion the same period last year.

the fourth quarter 2015 was a record quarter in Marine Harvest Fish Feed and Aarskog says that there is now a desire to expand fôraktiviteten with a new feed plant in Scotland.

Marine Harvest also has a factory in Ulvan on Hitra. Lokalavisa Hitra-Frøya wrote Tuesday that factory last week came into full operation again. Slaughter-workers were laid off at Christmas time due to lack of raw materials.
