That the company said in a statement Thursday afternoon.

– Norwegian has always been a fan of competition in aviation because it will give the travelers cheaper fares and more choice. Membership in Airlines for Europe is important because the alliance unites the industry’s common challenges and opportunities across national borders and companies, says CEO Bjørn Kjos.

Cheaper tickets

– for customers in the daily it will not mean anything, this is not a commercial cooperation. Norwegian joins a newly established trade association, communication manager at Norwegian, Lasse Sandakerveien-Nielsen, the online newspaper.

– Will this collaboration make it cheaper to fly?

– Together we can work with the challenges the industry, to improve the framework conditions, increase profitability, which in turn will provide cheaper tickets, he said.

he denies that this means that passengers from the Irish low cost giant Ryanair’s short haul network shall be admitted to the Norwegian’s long-haul routes, a so-called feeder arrangement.

Ryanair, Air France-KLM, easyJet, Lufthansa …

– Airlines for Europe will represent all European airlines’ interests. We’re going to get more members to come, and together we will fight to promote measures that increase the airlines’ competitiveness, which will lead to cheaper tickets and more choice for passengers. I am pleased to welcome Norwegian welcomed as a member, says Thomas Reynaert in Airlines for Europe.
