Hotels in Helgeland affected by strike – Helgelands Sheet

There are strikes in the hotel industry from Sunday morning. Hotel employees in Sandnessjøen, Mosjøen, Mo i Rana and Bronnoysund are among those taken out.

There has been mediation for a national collective agreement between Federation and NHO tourism. Today at 12 o’clock report Federation that mediation have failed.

– We are on strike because employers say flatly no to our main demands that are right for local negotiations, says union leader Jørn Eggum in Fellesforbundet.

Close to 3,500 members of Fellesforbundet is therefore strike from work future beginning at 08.00 Sunday.

– After we have brokered in 11 hours of overtime to find a solution, we need only note that employers also have rejected our demands for higher wages for our lowest paid members, says Jørn Eggum.

Federation writes on its website that they believe that many of the members have fallen behind in wage compared to other groups.

– Our members at the National Agreement are among those who earn very least, and that deserves a boost. We understand why the employers’ attitude as a desire to keep the lowest paid down, says chief negotiator, National Secretary Clas Delp.

– This we can not accept, therefore, we are on strike, he says.
