Renteendringen(e) is applicable from 13. January 2017 for existing loans, and from 15. november 2016 for new loans.

the Bank’s minimum retail rate of interest for residential mortgages for renteendringen will be 2.15 the per cent for Mortgages for young people.

Nordea was the first to put up boliglånsrentene on this occasion when the bank at the end of september put up the interest rate by 0.2 percentage points.

In the last week followed DNB for and also set up the interest rate by up to 0.2 percentage points.

the interest rate increases was published the same day that Donald Trump was chosen as America’s new president, which got some of its competitors to react.

It was a bit of a particular time to do it, I think. Was it a tactical maneuver to hide away the interest rate increases in the Trump-fog? It almost seems like that, said managing director Gunnar Hovland in the BN Bank to the DN.

Other storbanker waiting

Himself said both BN Bank and Handelsbanken that they do not have plans to raise interest rates with it first.

When Nordea set up boliglånsrenten, it was predicted a landslide of new rentehevinger. But only after six weeks came the answer.

the money market rate was a little different than you imagined, and the arguments for not putting up interest rates is strengthened, says professor Ola Honningdal Grytten at the NORWEGIAN, who in september thought that Nordea’s elevation was “only the beginning”.
