Shareholders who own about 33 percent of the shares in Opera, the leaders of the company and the Board has decided to accept bid.

The first 1,050,000 shares were purchased at the beginning of August last year at around 60 million, and Fredriksen has thus probably an average price of around 55 million of its shares.

Opera entrepreneur will take over Opera’s role
Co-founder Jon Stephenson von Tetzchner is completely out of the company and making good progress with the development of a new browser, Vivaldi. He founded Opera Software together with the deceased Geir Ivarsøy in 1998 and led the company from 2004 to 2010.
He believes that the owners and management could have taken the company much longer, and said the company is now being sold and not bought.
