Will move information corresponding to 100,000 iPhone

In the Pentecost weekend sits 120 hired experts from the Indian IT giant HCL in the bank’s headquarters, in Oslo. They shall ensure that all information about the bank’s two million customers moved from eight data centers to a new data center in the mountains of Rennesoy outside Stavanger. Additional 230 experts working on the project from India.

This is an example of so-called phishing, or to fish for up information. But no bank sends emails to their customers where they encourage you to enter personal data or account information. This is a scam.

Many of them have originated from India. They are brought in from major IT projects around the world, says Fiksdahl.

A total of 1,6-called petabyte moved during the entire process. This equates to the storage capacity of 100,000 iPhone with 16 gigabytes.

– Only mobile banking has now 12 million visits a month. Customers have become self-contained, and we must have systems that work optimally. Better systems and operational stability will help ensure that we can further develop and develop new services faster. But before we get there will our customers as mentioned occasionally meeting closed digital doors in low-traffic hours on weekends and holidays ahead, and we apologize, says executive vice president for retail, Trond Bentestuen.

– Danger that criminals take this opportunity

Thus DNB barely two million e-customers rely on the banking and mobile banking does not work from Friday evening to Sunday evening.

During the relocation, online banking, mobile banking and SMS services being down for 48 hours. For customers there is no risk, says Fiksdahl.

– For many have already been defrauded due phishing attempts, says Even Westerveld in DNB.

Still, warns DNB toward increased risk that criminals will use this opportunity to send out emails to confused customers, to gain access to personal information that customers should shield.

– We see that so-called phishing and scams happen frequently before major holidays and big events. It may be that someone exploits the opportunity, so customers must make a little extra, says Fiksdahl.

– Fearing new attacks in Pentecost

SVP Even Westerveld showcases several screenshots with the leaves to be DNB design and website, only revealed by an obscure URL.

– From the banks’ side, we will never request that customers disclose personal information by email. Just where it should call a red warning light for people, warns Westerveld.

He says that too many have been defrauded on clean phisingforsøk just the past few months.

– We had a larger attacks before Easter we luckily averted, but we fear the same could happen now, especially as we take down our own service,
