Statoil emission peak – Romsdals Budstikke

Statoil accounted overall for the emission of 294 million tons of greenhouse gas emissions last year, about five times as much as the total Norwegian emissions, writes Aftenposten.

According to a recent report information company Thomson Reuters has made in together with consultant BSC Consulting, the Russian gas company Gazprom that tops the list emissions sovereign. The company contributes to emissions that are 25 times higher than Norway’s total emissions.

The list consists of mining companies, oil and gas companies and power generators, and three types of direct and indirect emissions are surveyed. These are direct emissions from the companies’ own activities, emissions from energy production companies use in business, as well as emissions from customers’ use of the companies’ products.
