Paid 105 million for housing – has been empty for two years – HegnarOnline

Saudi Arabia bought ambassador residence of 105 million, but has lacked ambassador. According Finansavisen the house at Holmenkollen been empty for over two years.

– We see that there is light in the house sometimes, and that there are some who care for and hold on there, but otherwise the house almost totally dead, says one of the neighbors to Finansavisen.

In December 2012 it was announced that the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia had added 105 million on the table for an embassy residence in Holmenkollen in Oslo. Seller was property developer Torleif Solvang (73), who had lived in the giant villa in Krag way 7 since 1991.

In addition to the main house includes property less detached, and various garages.

– Once a year there is a big party there, and I think it is in the fall in conjunction with the country’s National Day. Then the whole street packed with BMWs and Mercedes are blue and yellow signs, says another neighbor Finansavisen. Saudi Arabia’s National Day is on September 23.

After several calls to the Saudi embassy to hear why not the house is put into use, the embassy said the following: It has stood empty because we have not had any ambassador ago November 2013.

In March, however Esam A. Abid Althagafi appointed new ambassador. Before he planned to move in, there must refurbishment.

– It shall be adopted as ambassador residence. The new ambassador arrived in January, but was officially received by the King in March and started leaving their jobs in Oslo in March. Since the property has been empty, there is a need for improvement, and we do not know how long it will take. Once renovations are complete, the ambassador and his wife move in, the embassy said the Finance newspaper.
