– It was neither the CEO or chairman who answered ministry?
– No, this was an employee of the bank, which for them is quite normal, responding Mæland.

Access to board minutes
As NRK told earlier this week asked the then Minister of Finance Kristin Halvorsen already in 2007 that DNB should discontinue the practice in Luxembourg. The call came as a result of that on the website of DNB Luxembourg was marketed for a bank service that was “discreetly” and operated under “Luxembourg’s banking secrecy.”
The call from Halvorsen came however never until DNB because bureaucrats in the finance ministry gave FSA informed that the text on the home could be perceived as tax evasion. Then they gave financial audit message on to DNB that the promotion had to be changed because it could damage the bank’s reputation.
It told the Director of Communications at the Ministry of Finance, Eva Karin Dahle Rabben and communications manager Jo Singstad financial audit to NRK Wednesday. The same information will appear in excerpts from two different board protocols FSA that NRK has disclosed.
– Confirms the Halvorsen said
In the Board minutes of August 24, 2007, what was then het Securities that “the discussion could be construed as incitement to tax evasion. The Authority has asked the bank to consider changing the discussion in the interest of the reputation. The matter can be discussed in the media. “
A month later it says in the board minutes that the bank has” made appropriate adjustments to the text on subsidiary bank in Luxembourg. “
The message from Halvorsen, via NRK in 2007, reached yet until DNB. For the same report in the evening news said then-Vice President Eivind Grønstad that “we take the criticism that appears very serious. We will look at every relationship it touches and see if there are things we need to change in order to ensure that all our activities live up to the strict rules we have in DNB NOR. ”
– It’s hard for me to answer for what happened in 2007, but it confirms the the Kristin Halvorsen said earlier in the week. Namely, that she took this up and asked financial audit follow up to the bank. Which they then obviously have done, says Mæland on the Financial Authority board minutes.
