October is historically not a good month for the housing market, but this year growth has only continued.
– October shows a very strong price trends in the housing market in Norway, said Property Norway director Christian Vammervold Dreyer when he presented the recent numbers on Thursday.
the Property of the Norwegian boligprisstatistikk for October show that house prices have risen nominally by 0.6 per cent from september to October. Adjusted for seasonal variations, giving it a growth of 1.4 per cent.
–We are in a very strong period, and have enough back to 2006 to find similar conditions, said Dreyer.
Weak tilbudsside
Last month flipped the twelve-month growth double-digit, and in October it has risen further to 12 per cent. In the red-hot oslomarkedet are house prices now 21,7% higher than one year ago.
at the same time, there are increasingly fewer homes on the market, and supply nationally is now at historic low levels. By the end of October, it was 12.130 homes for sale, which is 14.9 per cent fewer than one year ago.
– There are still too few homes for sale to meet the strong demand we see in large parts of the country. The low interest rates are contributing to strong growth in demand, in addition to that, we see that many are now buying property with the expectation that house prices will continue to rise. I will therefore emphasize that there are risks related to the purchase of housing, and especially after such a strong price rise that we have had in Oslo last year, ” says Dreyer.
Oslo-prices infects
Among the cities were Oslo and Drammen, which had the strongest price trends in October, with an increase of respectively 1.8 and 1.2 per cent. The regional differences are still significant, but now the firing rates of speed in large parts of the country.
–The record high price in Oslo and Eastern norway, incidentally spills over in the boligmarkedene in Mid-Norway, Northern Norway and parts of the west coast, ” says Dreyer.
