The downturn increases in industry – NRK

The index Norwegian PMI, which is an indicator of the state activity in Norwegian manufacturing fell further back in March, writes Dagens Næringsliv. The index was published by the Norwegian Association for Purchasing and Logistics (Nima) and Danske Bank Friday.

“Activity in the Norwegian industry continues downward, and it at a far faster pace than in February. It is particularly output and employment index which draws Norwegian PMI down in March, “the statement from Nima.

– PMI for March declined from 48.3 to 46.8, which suggests that industrial activity falls more than expected from recent months signals, says Svein-Egil Hoberg in Nima.

According to the union is still allowing the steepest fall was done away in the third quarter last year, and that the fall in the next two quarters have been somewhat less. This is also consistent with the actual production figures from Statistics Norway in the same period.

– What influenced PMI index in March most is the sharp fall in employment, but also the decline in production, commenting Hoberg.
