Statoil is now underway with the construction of the company itself calls the world’s first floating wind farm, Hywind off the coast of Peterhead in Scotland.

The wind farm will be equipped with lithium batteries with a capacity of 1 megawatt hour. These should be put in place in late 2018, says Statoil. The wind farm will begin producing electricity about one year before.
