Ica Norway- Manager Thorbjørn Theie was in 2012 brought in to whip Ica-ship. That he could never. Theie believes he should have been able to achieve profitable operations in everything next year.

To get to it confirms that Theie Ica had decided to close down the Ica Supermarket and Matkroken and only focus on one chain in Norway: Rimi.

– My assignment was not to rig company for sale, but again few black figures in the accounts. The plan for how to handle it all in 2015 was ready. It had dramatic cuts, and would do that again Ica was a small player with around seven percent market share. The plan was put on hold pending a final decision, says Theie.

In the plan, which internally was called “Foxtrot 2″, was also selling off all Ica operations north of Namsos in Nord -Trøndelag to Today’s Business’ve written before. ICA Norway currently has 120 stores from Namsos and north, plus distribution warehouse in Narvik. Ica was well planned to lay down further around 130 stores in the rest of Norway. Total number of stores going down by 250.
